Astillero in Spanish means shipyard. Just across the wharf of Donsol in Barangay Dancalan, you will find the biggest shipyard in this part of Luzon. This is actually a fairly old shipyard. It is believed to have been built during the Spanish period and in fact, it was the biggest shipyard in the country during that period. It was also a metal production site. Archaeologists unearthed numerous artifacts from the site which proved the folk story that a metal factory once stood there.
